Nepal Retreat 2025: Kora and Pilgrimage to Uncover Hidden Wisdoms & Sacred Treasures

Retreat Dates: November 2nd – 8th, 2025

Tashi Delek,
Welcome to the Heart Compass Retreat in Nepal! We are honored to guide you on this transformative pilgrimage through the sacred landscapes of Nepal. This retreat is designed to provide versatility and personal space with deep journeys in sacred sites to purify your inner landscape and restore lasting peace and clarity. By combining ancient wisdom with modern practices, you will embark on a personal pilgrimage that nourishes both your body and soul.

Kora and Pilgrimage in Nepal

Nepal is renowned for its rich spiritual traditions, and the practice of Kora – the sacred circumambulation of spiritual sites, is at the heart of many pilgrimages here. We will walk around sacred sites such as the Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and the ancient monasteries of Pharbing, allowing you to connect with the profound energy of these places. As you walk these sacred paths, you will engage in prayer, reflection, and mantras, invoking spiritual transformation.

This pilgrimage will be both a physical and spiritual journey that offers purification, awakening, and the accumulation of spiritual merit.

Purpose and Intention

Through this sacred walk, you’ll not only connect with the ancient energies of these sites, but you’ll also reconnect with yourself – your true nature and higher self. By purifying your body, mind, and spirit, the Kora will guide you to a deeper understanding of your life’s path, while offering you tools for spiritual clarity and peace.

Sacred Spaces for Spiritual Immersion

Your journey will include two distinctive accommodations, each offering a rich and meaningful experience:

5-Star Hotel and Resort — A verdant oasis set within five acres of tranquil, wooded gardens overlooking the hustle and bustle of central Kathmandu. This peaceful retreat offers luxurious and clean comfort alongside traditional Himalayan architecture, creating an ideal space for rest, reflection, and rejuvenation.

Nunnery — A simpler yet profound stay within the sacred space of a Tibetan Buddhist nunnery. Surrounded by the nurturing presence of the divine feminine, you’ll experience deep inner peace in an environment imbued with motherly care and wisdom.

Meet Our Local Guides

Karma Sherpa is a monk from Kopan Monastery with over 16 years in monastic life. He completed basic modern education, speaks fluent English, and is currently studying Buddhist philosophy. He has undertaken a meditation retreat and has experience constructing sand mandalas and performing tantric rituals. Grounded in daily monastic practice and a love of the outdoors—especially hiking and trekking—Karma will serve as one of our two local guides for the Nepal Retreat.
Tsering is a 27-year-old ex-monk of Kopan Monastery who grew up in a Sherpa family steeped in Buddhist culture. From early childhood he was familiar with the world of dharma, and although he now lives a simple lay life, he continues to draw on these roots in his daily practice. Tsering recently completed higher studies in science and has plans to pursue civil engineering in the future. Alongside his studies, he has worked in hospitality, trained as a barista, and is currently working as a sales executive, where he weaves compassion and mindfulness into his work. With his unique blend of monastic grounding and contemporary experience, Tsering joins the Nepal Retreat as one of our two local guides, offering a thoughtful and down-to-earth presence on the journey.

More about the practices:

  • Aura Kinetics, designed by Jolie, is a powerful fusion of Yoga, Tai Chi Gong, and Reiki. This practice uses somatic exercises to harness kinetic energy, recalibrating movement patterns and consciousness. Through mindful breathwork and movement, you will awaken vitality, heighten awareness, and embody inner strength.
  • Aura Manifestation is a journaling process designed by Jolie, integrating her extensive experience in the healing arts. This practice combines vision board exercises, coaching questions inspired by The Artist’s Way, manifestation techniques, and art therapy exercises. Through this process, participants are guided to explore their inner world, clarify their goals, and manifest their desires creatively, fostering personal growth and healing.
  • Sound Healing is a non-intrusive sound journey to heal your senses in your autonomic nervous system (ANS), so that you may restore energy, rest deeply and become more in tune with your body, mind and your emotions. Through frequencies from an array of sound therapy instruments, energy flows to open and restore flow in the channels of your body.
  • Reiki is a form of energy healing beyond words and gradually unfolds through personal experience. The Japanese word ‘reiki’ can be translated as ‘universal life energy’ and the Usui System is a way of working with reiki for healing of self and others. The word healing is used in the sense of regaining harmony and wholeness. Usui Shiki Ryoho addresses the whole person on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels and those that we cannot identify at the present.
  • Sharing Circle and Oracle Card Reading provides a space for inner reflection, study discussions, and intuitive learning. Participants engage in meaningful conversations, guided by oracle cards, to uncover their inner magic and wisdom. This practice fosters deep reflection, shared insights, and a sense of belonging in a safe, private setting, promoting personal growth.
